Track performances by African-origin and Afro-diaspora artists across markets. This free tracker complements The CultrVibe Artist Index, which documents the verified venue capacities and country records behind each tier.
What the Tracker records. Each row is one live performance or scheduled appearance by an African-origin or Afro-diaspora artist, identified by artist, venue, city and date. Festivals and awards ceremonies with a live audience are included. Television and studio appearances are not.
What counts as verified. Verified describes the evidence for the stated outcome. It does not mean every listed performance took place. Strong sources are the venue, the promoter, the artist, official ticketing and detailed reports from established press. An announcement or a ticket listing shows that a date was planned. A performance is shown as Performed only when a report from after the event confirms the artist appeared. A Cancelled row requires evidence that the scheduled performance was called off.
Why some rows are not verified. A performance that is Corroborated, Announced or not listed may still have taken place. It means we have not yet found evidence that meets our standard. Coverage of African and Afro-diaspora live music is thinner than for many other live music sectors, so reports of a show are often few, late or from a single outlet. That gap is why CultrVibe tracks these performances. We keep the standard high so that every Verified row can be relied on.
Where a date has to be worked out from a report, for example the night before, the note on that row says so. A filled Performed label means the performance is verified. An outlined Performed label means it is supported by reports but does not yet meet our standard for verified. Confirmed shows counts Performed rows only.
Rows still being checked. Outcomes we cannot yet verify are not listed. Where available, the page shows a dated count of outcomes still being checked and nothing more. This is a research backlog snapshot, not a count of completed shows or a cancellation rate. Self-reported submissions never appear until they have been checked.
The smallest published concert layout of a room decides whether it is a Headline or a Club show. Venue capacity is a classification aid, not evidence of attendance or tickets sold. Where the venue is not confirmed, the format follows the venue named in the tour announcement and remains dependent on that venue attribution. The first date of an artist's own tour is a Headline or Club show, not a support slot.
Tracker updates. Recent updates lists published additions and corrections for the selected market. New and Updated badges expire after 14 days. Recently added or updated sorts by tracker publication activity, independently of performance dates.
Corrections. If you spot a mistake or a performance we are missing, signed-in readers can send it through the submission form on this page. Every submission is checked against primary sources before the table changes.
